* I started writing this on March 19th, little did I know that the next day I would start laboring...
These last few days have been rough, every evening since my last post I have lost a lot of blood which has turned into exams, monitoring and more tests which has turned into long days and very little rest. This morning I woke up with some pinching in my back, I started to try and walk around my room, soon I started feeling it spread further and I started feeling pain in my uterus. I called the nurse but no one came for like 20 minutes, by the time my tech came into the room I was holding the bathroom sink and sobbing, I thought I was going into labor. They laid me down and put me on the heart rate monitor and contraction monitor, the baby's heart rate looked good and I was not having contractions. As I laid there the pain increased and I felt like my whole body was twisting in pain, I just remember feeling my toes curl and holding onto the mattress with one hand and the handle of the bed with the other deeply breathing in and out. As they examined me I started feeling sharp pains low in my pelvis and around my stomach, the back pain increased. They checked my cervix and it was closed, but they saw lots of blood. They ordered an ultrasound and I had blood work one hour after another. Every nurse and doctor that came in was surprised to see me in misery instead of busily working on something. They decided to move me down to an emergency labor and delivery room as a precautionary measure even though all my tests looked okay, showing no infections or clots. I had to lay there for 6 hours with no food or drink and they kept coming down to draw my blood and check my cervix to see if there was any changes. At around 2 pm a resident came in to do another exam of my cervix and talk with the high risk doctors. My bloodwork showed my body trying to recover on its own with the loss of blood, my urine showed no infection either and the baby looked great on the monitor the entire time. She had unplugged the heart rate monitor and contraction monitor and said a nurse would come in to fix it. I decided to stand up and take my IV that was attached to me but not dripping with me to the bathroom, I couldn't stand to be laying down any longer. When the nurse came in I was ready for a scolding for getting up and going by myself but she said the doctors decided I didn't need to be in the emergency room anymore and I could go upstairs. As soon as I got up stairs I asked my nurse if I could shower. My gown was just a mess and I really thought it would make me feel refreshed. I probably should have waited till after I ate because as soon as I got in the shower I felt woozy and just completely wiped out. They told me I could order food and my nurse brought me a "cocktail" to try and bring up my blood sugar because they wanted to see accelerations in the baby's heart rate during monitoring.....TBC on next post.
